I-84 Stop Leads To Drugs, Weapons Charges For Couple
An I-84 traffic stop by New York State Police troopers led to the arrests of a couple who were allegedly in possession of drugs, paraphernalia and illegal weapons.
Troopers stopped Wallkill resident Anthony Smieszek, 30, at approximately 2:45 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 17, on I-84 in Montgomery when he committed a traffic violation.

Vaping-Related Illnesses Climb In New York, Including Locally
The number of vaping-associated illnesses is spreading with 25 cases across New York State, including locally.
Currently, there are are 10 cases in the western part of the state, four in the Capital Region, four in Dutchess County, three in Westchester County, one on Long Island and three in New York City, said Jill Montag, a public information officer with the State Department of Health.

Haworth PD: Out-Of-State Travelers Had Liquid THC, Nearly 100 Xanax
A Haworth police officer who stopped an out-of-state driver for not using a turn signal found him and a passenger carrying liquid THC, as well as nearly 100 Xanax, authorities said.
Officer Andrew Soltes smelled pot after stopping 25-year-old Alexi Emmanuel Negron at Massachusetts Avenue and Seneca Trace, Detective Sergeant Justin Fox said.
He found Negron carrying liquid THC cartridges and drug paraphernalia, the sergeant said.
Both also had various vapes and pipes for ingesting the drugs, he said.
