ID In Order To Board Domestic Flights
New Yorkers planning to take a domestic flight are going to have to “get real" if they hope to board their plane. Beginning on Oct. 1, 2020, a standard New York State driver’s license won’t be enough to get on even a domestic flight, and although that is more than two years away, the DMV is encouraging residents to get ahead of the game. There are now three different forms of driver’s license or New York State identification, a standard - which will not be enough to board a domestic flight alone come October next year - enhanced, or the REAL ID license, which is in coordination with a new l…

New York lawmakers have set their sights on Apple after a bug allowing an eavesdropping flaw earlier this month was discovered. The bug lets you call anyone with FaceTime, and immediately hear the audio coming from their phone — before the person on the other end has accepted or rejected the incoming call, according to reports. In response, New York Attorney General Letitia James announced that her office would be “launching an investigation into Apple’s failure to warn consumers about t…

Facebook Wants You To Allow Its Cameras Into Your Home
Big brother may be getting a little bigger. Facebook announced it is launching a new electronic device, titled Portal, which is intended to optimize video calls for users. However, it remains unclear if people are open to the idea of an Internet-connected camera in their homes following several privacy issues with the social media giant. Earlier this year, millions of Facebook users may have had their data accessed by Cambridge Analytica, a data mining firm that worked on behalf of President Donald Trump’s campaign. Recently, Facebook acknowledged that hackers may have broken through securi…

The Warren Point School boys told police they'd been reading near a stairwell in the original school building on Monday when the man "came up to the door on the 30th Street side of the building and knocked on the door, motioning for the students to open [it]," Sgt. Brian Metzler said. "He then went to the playground side of the building and attempted the same thing" before leaving, the sergeant said. "E…
