Police ID Victim Stabbed Dead Over Stolen Phone In New Brunswick
A 55-year-old man was stabbed to death during a fight over a stolen phone Monday, April 18 in New Brunswick, and the suspect remains at large, authorities said. Police responded to the stabbing at Delavan Street and Jersey Avenue at approximately 3:35 a.m., where they found Rogelio Lopez-Lopez, with multiple stab wounds, they said. He was taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital where he was pronounced dead. A Connecticut man who was an alleged fugitive from justice wanted for attempted murder was busted with 40 pounds of marijuana and an AK-47 assault rifle by a US Marshals task force. A violent fugitive from Jersey City who's wanted in Maryland remained held in the Passaic County Jail after he was busted for shoplifting, authorities said. Authorities in Anne Arundel County, MD are seeking the extradition of Jonathan D. Peralta, 37, to answer a theft charge there, Wayne Police Detective Capt. Dan Daly said. New York State Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a teenager wanted by federal officials in connection to a January killing.
